Role of Questions in an Early Childhood Classroom
Young children want to know “why” the world works like it does. Whether they are asking, “Why is the sky is blue” or “How come water gets bubbly when it gets hot on the stove?” their natural curiosity makes them ask questions.....LOTS of them! This course is designed to help early childhood teachers take advantage of these curiosities and use them to help students become life-long learners. During this course participants will understand how their classroom environment can have a direct impact on the role questions play within their classrooms. Teachers will investigate a variety of types of questions and establish a system for encouraging and identifying questions within their four walls. Finally, teachers will create a lesson that includes a variety of questions which supports thinking for young learners.
