Managing a classroom has always been a roller-coaster--unpredictable and thrilling when things go well, and a bit scary when things go off the rails. These days, technology integration has increased students’ engagement, but has also introduced a new set of management challenges.
In the digital age, classroom management takes more than a discipline plan and a poster of rules. It also depends upon positive relationships between teachers, learners and parents, instructional strategies that foster empowerment, and a strong learning community. Even seasoned teachers find that classroom management is a perpetual work-in-progress, where changes in our students, the tools we use, and our own style require continuous management improvement efforts.
